Gray had 34 points (12-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 5-7 FT) to go with eight assists and two steals in Thursday's blowout win over Tulsa.

The Cougars were on fire from beyond the arc Thursday and Gray was no exception as he canned a season-high five triples, tying his previous mark from November when Houston took on Drexel. Gray wasn't overly reliant on the three ball, however, as he also got to the hoop and the foul line. He's the AAC's leading scorer, pouring in 19.6 points per game, and he's doing it on a remarkably efficient 48.7 percent shooting. Gray and the Cougars will have another favorable matchup Sunday when they visit East Carolina.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray scored 37 points (13-21 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 6-8 FT) with six rebounds and four assists in the loss to Drexel in the Paradise Jam on Friday.

Gray served his one-game suspension for playing in an impermissible game during the summer. He looked ready to dominate even if he was unable to lead the Cougars to a victory. Houston meets Liberty in the consolation bracket and Gray could have another big scoring game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray (suspension) is able to return for Friday's game against Drexel, Josheph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Gray was suspended one game for playing in a church recreation basketball game last March. He sat out the season opener against McNeese State, and is now eligible to return for the Cougars. Gray was one of the nation's leading scorers in 2016, averaging 20.6 points per game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray was suspended for Houston's opener against McNeese State because he played in a church league rec game over the summer, ESPN reports.

Gray was the Cougars' leading scorer at 20.6 points last season. Junior college transfer Corey Davis Jr. could start and have a featured offensive role. Gray should return next Friday against Drexel.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray put up 25 points and tallied 11 dimes in an exhibition victory over Baylor on Saturday, The Houston Chronicle reports.

Gray put together the impressive line by shooting 7-of-15 from the field and 10-of-14 from the charity stripe. The North Carolina native was the 2016-17 AAC scoring leader with an average of 20.6 points, and has already been voted to the 2017-18 preseason all-conference first team. His scoring may be tough to improve upon after averaging 32.3 MPG last season, but there's room to grow in the assist department, where he contributed 2.9 per contest. Houston is picked to finish sixth in the conference in the annual preseason coach's poll after landing a NIT invite a season ago.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray scored 28 points (11-25 FG, 6-11 3Pt) to go along with four assists, three rebounds and three steals in Saturday’s win over Tulsa.

Gray came out firing Saturday against the Golden Hurricane, and it paid off in a big way. The junior guard’s 28-point performance was fueled by a season-high six made 3-pointers. The Cougars will likely continue to rely on their leading scorer to be the focal point of their offense down the stretch this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray (illness) had 21 points (9-22 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and four rebounds in Saturday's loss to Cincinnati.

Gray missing seven three-pointers is a bit of a shock, as the junior is converting 40.3 percent of his treys this season. It was still a somewhat productive fantasy day, however, as he collected 20-plus points for the third straight game. What's most important is that he was back to his regular role after missing Wednesday's matchup against Tulsa due to illness.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gray (illness) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Cincinnati, Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Although Duarte is reporting that Gray has been recovering well from his case of the flu, it's still no guarantee that he'll suit up Saturday against the Bearcats. If Gray is ultimately ruled out again, Wes VanBeck would be the leading candidate to start in his place. VanBeck started Wednesday's contest and chipped in 16 points (3-8 FG, 10-10 FT) over 37 minutes against Tulsa.
